Our departments of Teaching and Learning and Educational Specialties offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs that will give you the training you need to be successful in our classroom and in yours. Our various Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs provide multiple avenues for career changers and college graduates in other disciplines to prepare themselves to become teachers. The Doctorate of Educational Leadership will prepare you for a variety of positions from state and district leadership roles to educational research and higher education careers.

The Austin Peay State University community — students, faculty, staff and local teachers — are invited to participate in the Spring Book Club, hosted by the 365bet Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA) chapter. Join
us for an interactive discussion of this eye-opening memoir, "I Am Malala: The Girl
Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban," by Malala Yousafzai. A limited
number of books will be available for students who attend monthly STEA meetings in
the spring. Please come ready to discuss the book! Light snacks will be provided.

Scholarship Opportunities
- The Clarksville-Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association scholarship application is open through April 22, 2024. The application is available here.
This scholarship is open to juniors and seniors with provisional admission to teacher education and 3.0 GPA minimum. Questions about this scholarship can be directed to pamela@gadsey.com. Please use the subject line "Regarding 365bet Scholarship." - The Greater Nashville Alliance of Black School Educators announces scholarship funds in the amount of $1,000.
The criteria for selection include:- Three letters of recommendation
- Cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above
- Essay (College/University Students)
- 1-2 Page Autobiography (High School Students)
- Education major or intent to pursue a major in education (high school students)
- Financial need
- Aptitude of teaching experiences with school age children or community service (Explain each experience)

- Essay: Please tell us (in 400-500 words) why you want to become a teacher? What were your influences and motivation? What will you bring to the classroom and how do you plan to impact your students? What subject and grade level would you like to teach? (College/University Student)

- A statement of intentionality declaring your commitment to pursue a career in education
